Casale di Brolio is a country house built on top of a hill, between the end of the 19th and start of the 20th-century, to house entire families of the farmers that worked the fields of the land reclamation programme completed by Leopold II which had been started centuries before.

Previously the Valdichiana (Chiana Valley) was an important waterway used by boats, both large and small, for fishing or transporting goods in the direction of the River Arno.
In some areas it is still possible to see the rings used for mooring the boats and the name “Via di Porto a Brolio” is a reminder of what this place was once used for.

The road that crosses the plain in the direction of Cortona is scattered with isolated rural buildings, some of which were owned by the Sovereign Military Order of Malta and so date back to the period before the land reclamation by Leopold II.
We offer to our guests four double rooms that are named after the towns they overlook: Cortona; Lucignano; Castiglion Fiorentino and Farneta.

It overlooks the fields of the Valdichiana, often planted with sunflowers. It is set against the backdrop of Cortona, which at night lights up as though in fairy tale.
The swimming-pool can be the setting for a romantic meal or special celebrations.

Our cuisine uses only locally produced ingredients taken from the surrounding areas, all of which are of the highest quality.

Rooms
All have their own private bathrooms, TV, Wi-Fi, and Minibar and are air conditioned.
Moreover we have two suites: "Il Lago” (The Lake)that is a first floor suite with a large bedroom, one double and one single bed, a bathroom, kitchen and table seating up to four people; and "La Mansarda" (The Attic) which is a romantic suite situated in the highest part of the farmhouse and it consists of a double room with a round window that offers views across the valley, a living-room with double sofa-bed, a bathroom and spacious kitchen. Our swimming-pool measures 14m x 7m.

Casale di Brolio traditionally Tuscan bedrooms and suites, with ancient terracotta floors and oak beamed ceilings, contain an exquisite selection of art prints and antique furniture. All rooms enjoy fabulous views of the gardens.
Guests staying in this splendid historic house experience the very best of Tuscany, strolling through fragrant gardens brimming with roses, Cyprus, maritime pine and olive trees, from mid June, soaking up the Tuscan sun by the pool.

For lovers of good food and wine, Casale di Brolio is tantamount to gourmet heaven. Reflecting the trend for 'zero mile cuisine', the "Babette" restaurant serves exciting Italian and regional dishes prepared exclusively with local products, accompanied by a well-researched selection of wines, produced by those small, independent Italian wineries whose passion for wine goes hand-in-hand with their love and respect of the territory in which it is made.
