The island of treasures. It would take months, perhaps years, to visit all the countless attractions of Sicily: a treasure chest that, once opened, reveals endless treasures and surprises in terms of history, landscapes, flavors and traditions. A land touched by many different and important dominations that have left testimonies that have become the calling card of tourism in Italy over the centuries. A mild and generous climate all year round, a sea that has nothing to envy of the most famous Caribbean, a welcoming and sunny population.
A sun that enchants. In addition to visiting Palermo and its treasures, the smaller islands, the temples and the salt pans, and in addition to seeing the ceramics and mosaics, what could make a trip to this magical island even more inviting? We could, for example, fully enjoy its sun, which, like the cities of art and the most famous monuments, deserves to be included among the treasures of Sicily. Not only because it shines all year round, but because it colors and shapes the landscapes of the island, sometimes gold, sometimes lighting them up with fiery red.
Relax in Sicilian style. With this tour we want to make light and relaxation the real key to a different, more relaxed and aware tourism, to get in touch with an archaic and beautiful land, which can be discovered also and above all with a slow pace, close to the heart and archaic soul of the island. To fully enjoy the dim light and the scent of the Mediterranean scrub, and discover the wonder in small steps, with eyes turned to the sea and the heart to history.
1 dayPalermo
We leave for Palermo on a scheduled flight, and upon arrival we transfer to the resort that will be our base for the entire stay. The assistant is available to give the first directions, and we have some time available for a bit of relaxation. Just before dinner we meet the rest of the group and find a welcome cocktail waiting for us.
2 dayTrapani - Erice
In the morning we leave for Trapani, we visit with the guide its historic center overlooking the Church of the Jesuit College and the Church of the Holy Souls of Purgatory, and we end with a walk along the Mura di Tramontana. Lunch is free. In the afternoon we reach Erice, a medieval village perched at 750 meters above sea level, a real terrace overlooking the sea. We walk with the guide through the alleys and streets of the city, and after a tasting of its famous pastry products we return to the hotel for dinner.
3 dayPalermo - Monreale
Today is free to relax in the pool or for other free activities. Alternatively, you can take part in an optional excursion to Palermo and Monreale. We visit some of the most representative monuments of the Sicilian capital, such as the Cathedral and the Palatine Chapel. We stroll through the streets of the center between its markets and elegant baroque buildings. Lunch is free, to have the opportunity to taste one of the thousand proposals of the famous Palermo street food. The last stop is an unmissable homage to Monreale, whose mosaics represent one of the greatest mosaic expressions in Italy. Dinner is scheduled at the hotel.
4 dayRiserva dello Zingaro
Our holiday in Sicily continues with a splendid boat excursion in one of the most beautiful areas of the western coast, starting from Castellammare del Golfo and arriving at Riserva dello Zingaro and Scopello. We return to Castellammare for lunch on our own, and we have some time available for a walk or a swim in the sea. We return to the hotel in the late afternoon and have dinner in the evening.
5 dayCustonaci - San Vito Lo Capo - Macari
Today is all about sun and sea in one of the most enchanting areas of Sicily. Before arriving in San Vito lo Capo we pass through Custonaci, a coastal town known above all for the extraction of precious marble. In San Vito lo Capo we have some free time for a walk or a nice swim in the sea on one of the most beautiful beaches in Sicily. Lunch is free and we suggest trying the delicious couscous alla trapanese in one of the many local restaurants. On the way back to the hotel we make a quick stop to photograph Macari, a village that became known to the general public thanks to the television series that bears its name. Dinner is included in the hotel.
6 dayBagheria - Cefalù
In the morning we reach Cefalù, and with the guide we visit its small center with the small port and the Cathedral. We then stop in a restaurant for a typical lunch. In the afternoon on the way back we stop in Bagheria to visit the Villa Cattolica, which houses the Museum and the tomb of the great painter Renato Guttuso. We have dinner at the hotel.
